As the first kick-start for this subject, while students and their respective tutor still not knowing each other so well. So, in this assignment, students are required to introduce themself and express it by an artwork. It can be a sculpture or mask or anything. Just assume this as an ice- breaking design studio project. And yes, we had a lot of funs through out the process.
The first day, we met our tutor, Ar.Izwan. And he wanted us to get a big butter paper and sketch anything about ourself to get some inspiration.

In this Project 1, this is a good experience for us to get more understanding of ourself and able to translate the our characteristic into design product. What we learned from foundation such as design elements and principles, I was given chance to apply all the learning into the design process. Meanwhile, I able to locate the information into boards effectively so viewers can read through easily. Since that, I learned to be more open thinking and asked my friends for more opinions so that i could improve my works.
This project aims to practice students' interpretation about the human body. Since that, we have to know more about the interaction of body and space, anthropometrics and ergonomics. Firstly, we have to pick one group member from our group as our user (client). And we have to create the Life Capsule that based on his body gestures, body measurements and etc. We picked Thien Hee as our client. And he is a photographer since taking photos as his hobbies.

Since after we received all the comments / critics from the tutors, we decided to modify our design from every members' perspective. We planned to show at least one design idea on next tutorial since after the interim.

It's been a long journey to the end product came up. No comments but still, a good chance for me to know more people and understand how to communicate. Again, it also allow us to apply some therioes and architectural terms, such as light & air ventilation, circulation, human activity, scale and proportion, hierarchy and etc. This projects provide a wide field for students to think wide and pratically to make the thing happen. But still, the study of ergonomic practices us to create a life capsule that is fit to the specific user, which fits our client body measurement. Throughout the meetings and discussions, all the members were given a platform to speak out loud their opinions to meet the best decision.
This project engages the activities that students usually do other than stay in studio and busy with their research or mockup, such as travelling, taking photos and etc. Rather than just investigating the activities, this assignment creates another great opportunity to practice students' storytelling and narrative skill in term of architectural details. As the end of this project, every group of students will come out with a video that explore the particular building.

Good experience to work with another great bunch of new people. Positively spoke out sort of ideas such as the arrangement of video...how we shoot the video, how to get the right angle, how to bring out the feeling while analysize the building in term of architectural language. The meetings we held were mostly focus on the content, but still we want to bring out a good and interesting storyline so that audience wont be bored of the product.
REFLECTION
Final project combines the element of Project 1 (Creativity) and Project 2 (ergonomics) to lead the students to a new level of architecture. They have to pick one client from the selected list and create a hideout for him/her.
I picked Nick Vujicic, because he was such an inspiring person, and i was a BIG FAN of him since i was 13 years old.

Finally, design studio 1 came to the end. This project was totally taking long way to complete, from the first idea generating til the second we submit, was exhausting. But still apprecaite that Ar. Izwan leads us from the first till the last project. From this project, I able to practice my theories in term of design elements and principles, and some architectural terms. I received and understand the critics and comments from the proffesionals so that i can improve more. Not just thinking wild, but also practically so that this building still under the logic to be constructed in the real world, as an architecture. Deeply realize, self management is very important in this assignment. Found out a lot of fellow friends cant complete their works, still, it needs a good management to schedule out the task so that we can do completely and submit on time.
