PROJECT 1

This project allows students to understand and experience the joint construction. In the end of this assignment, students are required to construct a temporary bus shelter which fits for 5-6 people. Throughout the progress, they are required to discover and investigate how the structure works and load distributes.

REPORT

I found this assignment is interesting and useful, because we are literally build the model out from scratch and its not easy as we thought. Even though the result doesnt turn out well, but i really appreciate the hardworking of the group members while i was fell sick. Its been a good lesson for us to do in-depth research and make sure the model is buildable and sustainable in a way that brings benefit to the user in real world.

PRESENTATION BOARD

Its been a fantastic experience in this project. We purposely choose the gridshell structure that existing in local so that we can actually see and explore the joint construction in real world. It helped a lot for us to visualize and understand in-depth rather than just on-screen research. We went through some struggles on model-making and joint detail, but eventually we made it because of great teamwork and satisfied with the outcome. Through the research, we can see the potential Malaysian architecture in growth, not just merely look around and ignore the construction behind.
